INMOTION X1

The INMOTION X1 is an electric unicycle for experienced riders who want to work through technical trails, steep starts and repeated changes of pace. Its BLDC motor is rated at 6000 W, with up to 20,000 W of peak output and a manufacturer-quoted maximum torque of 340 Nm. Those figures describe its power reserves; peak output is not continuous rated power.

The Raptor S SiC controller uses silicon-carbide power semiconductors on a platform rated at 201.6 V nominal and 235.2 V maximum. Together, the motor and controller are designed to deliver the response needed for demanding off-road acceleration and climbs. The manufacturer specifies a design maximum of 120 km/h** and a maximum tested slope of 45°. These are conditional manufacturer figures, not a promise for every rider or terrain.

The X1 uses EVE 50PL cells in a 56S1P × 2 configuration. INMOTION markets the battery as 2,100 Wh; the product manual lists 2,016 Wh of rated energy. We distinguish the advertised figure from the manual’s rated value so you can compare like for like. The intelligent BMS monitors the pack and provides protection against conditions including overcharging, excessive temperature, over-discharge, overcurrent and short circuits.

The manual gives approximately 35 minutes from 0 to 90% with the standard 235.2 V, 16 A charger. The maximum permitted charging current is 20 A with an official compatible INMOTION charger; the advertised 30-minute figure refers to charging at up to 20 A, not the included 16 A charger.

INMOTION reports a theoretical range of around 70 km with a 90 kg load at 25°C, 2.5 bar tyre pressure and speeds between 25 km/h* and 40 km/h** on mixed surfaces. Terrain, temperature, pressure and riding style change the distance available.

The top display keeps speed, battery level, riding mode and vehicle-status information in view. The power button also controls the headlight, while automatic headlight operation can be configured in the INMOTION app. A 20 W front light, side markers and a tail light provide the lighting setup, with the rear light flashing brightly under braking.

Bluetooth connectivity links the X1 to the INMOTION app for vehicle information, pedal-sensitivity adjustment and OTA firmware updates. INMOTION also describes two configurable riding profiles, selectable using the physical top button, for keeping different alarm and response settings ready. Launch features remain subject to the firmware supplied.
